DESCRIPTION: France, an unusual sheet iron annular clock, square, stepped, molded base on compressed ball feet and ornamented with seated monkeys, fleur de lis banners and egg and dart moldings below a waterleaf and grapevine decorated column, the base with four, addorsed, winged horses, and capital with volutes, surmounted by a sphere with foliate finial, flanking serpents, two putti holding the pointer and concealing the winding holes and crutch, the sphere containing the 8 day, two train, Japy Freres movement with Roman numeral, blue and white enamel annular dial, the numerals alternating with the signs of the zodiac
CONDITION: case dirty, and with darkening and minor oxide, finial with minor bends, one serpent with replaced screw, pointer replaced, one dial support replaced, enamel with minor scratches and chips, movement ticks and strikes, pendulum missing
